Pieter Dekker – Children’s Roles in Web Search
Searching information on the Internet includes several non-trivial steps such as phrasing keyword queries or judging the relevance and credibility of retrieved results. This expertise has to be acquired over time. In a user study at a Dutch elementary school, we observe children’s Web search behavior in order to predict their likelihood of succeeding in finding the desired information.
